Breaking Apart—August 2023
Sun breaks over the horizon,
opening a new day.
But now you have broken
off all conversation. What have
I done to haltour speaking
with respect to each other?
It has put a brake on friendship.
I don’t feel broken hearted,
I guess I should be. It was
a long friendship but as you
said all things must come to an end.
So I go along with my day,
your memory fading
like a breaking wave on the beach.
