Sections of her brain<br \/>\nslip past each other, blood seeping<br \/>\nbetween the layers.<\/p>\n<p>Ice bends the maple; its crown<br \/>\nfreezes to the ground and splinters,<br \/>\na green stick fracture along its trunk.<br \/>\nGusts blow leaves from remaining<br \/>\nbranches, spit snow onto the trunk:<br \/>\nsmall wet spots.<\/p>\n<p>The storm passes leaving the tree<br \/>\noutlined in white.
