Sunset <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Here we are at sunset sitting<\/p>\n\n\n\n
on the sand listening<\/p>\n\n\n\n
to the waves ease onto the shore,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
gulls settle for the night.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It is the standard question: where did<\/p>\n\n\n\n
we go wrong? I have slipped<\/p>\n\n\n\n
away from you like the half moon<\/p>\n\n\n\n
setting in the morning. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
It fades with the rising sun. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Did I make one<\/p>\n\n\n\n
suggestion too many about how I would<\/p>\n\n\n\n
accomplish a task when you have<\/p>\n\n\n\n
not asked for assistance? <\/p>\n\n\n\n
I was only trying to be helpful,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
did not see the tides of irritation<\/p>\n\n\n\n
on your face. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
I wish we could come back<\/p>\n\n\n\n
to that morning when we met.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
But just as you cannot hold a wave<\/p>\n\n\n\n
in your hand, we will never capture that sunrise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
