My Grave<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It\u2019s dark down in this box in this hole. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Can\u2019t seem to get enough light or air. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
But I don\u2019t need either, I am dead. Dead to me,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
to my friends, to the world. I do wonder what they<\/p>\n\n\n\n
are saying about me, I really don\u2019t want to know. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
I\u2019m sure some good, some bad. Maybe I was helpful,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
maybe I had a temper. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
I guess you are supposed to ask forgiveness<\/p>\n\n\n\n
of all those you have wronged, my bones will have become<\/p>\n\n\n\n
fossils before I reach the end of that list. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
So I will make a blanket statement: I am sorry to all those<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I have offended. That might keep me out of Hell<\/p>\n\n\n\n
but I had so many good intentions, I am afraid my road<\/p>\n\n\n\n
is already paved. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
It\u2019s quiet down here and I like that,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
time to listen to the worms converting clay into good soil,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
listen to 17 year cicadas grow in their exoskeletons. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
I wonder if my soul will rise from this dead body to float<\/p>\n\n\n\n
among stars. Perhaps then I will live again to hear wind<\/p>\n\n\n\n
in the trees, birds calling from their perch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
