I am not ready for your dragging days<\/p>\n\n\n\n
You make them so short. At my house,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
you never know whether to be sleet or snow. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
If you must come, please bring big snowflakes<\/p>\n\n\n\n
that sift over limp grass and then cardinals<\/p>\n\n\n\n
will ornament the trees. You ice the deck that the dog<\/p>\n\n\n\n
and I have to traverse. Shrubs succumb to your weight,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
never regaining strength to stand erect again. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
And your frost freezes to the windshield like glue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Do send deep blue skies with sun sparkling off iced<\/p>\n\n\n\n
tree limbs to let me know that warmer days are ahead. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Don\u2019t tease us with the smell of spring only to slam<\/p>\n\n\n\n
the door shut with a storm. Most importantly,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
leave as quietly as you came.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
