If disturbed, <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>they move pale eggs further <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>into the bowels of the passageways.&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Their tiny dirt volcanoes <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>hide this from our eyes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A road of scent is left <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>for ants to follow<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>to the grasshopper; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>two or three wrangle<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>its wing to the underground.&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Worker ants store their larder.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Soldier ants will emerge <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>with the collapse of their entrance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All this hidden from our turmoil above.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Muddy River Poetry Review<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Under the Sidewalk Ants, at home in the crack of a sidewalk, dig their corridors, tend eggs.
