Some fall back<br \/>\ninto the hollow; just as she<\/p>\n<p>slips into the dark<br \/>\nonly the dying know.<\/p>\n<p>Eyes, Nose. Sharp teeth. No ears.<\/p>\n<p>I slice a little wedge out<br \/>\nof the cap for air flow, push<br \/>\nthe candle into the base. She has gone<br \/>\npast pumpkin orange, in fact<br \/>\nnot even pumpkins turn<br \/>\nthe red-gray-green she<br \/>\nhas become as her new liver<br \/>\nfails. After tricks and treats<br \/>\nthe mouth will look like hers,<\/p>\n<p>sunk in and soft.
