Scurrying back and forth, they are taking<br \/>\nsugar to the nest somewhere in the wall.<br \/>\nA scout ant must have picked up the smell of cocoa<br \/>\nbrownies; left a trail for others to follow<\/p>\n<p>They are so small but who knows what damage they<br \/>\nare doing to the house? The ant spray I use inside<br \/>\nis supposed to smell like cinnamon. I spray a paper towel<br \/>\nand attack the horde. Last year, I thought I had closed<br \/>\nall the holes with tub and tile caulking. But still they come.<br \/>\nThis year, I squirt a gel into the holes I hadn&#8217;t found<br \/>\nand outdoors along their paths on the foundation. <\/p>\n<p>Outside I turn over a cinder block, find the nest.<br \/>\nNurse ants run eggs deeper underground.<br \/>\nI apologize for disrupting their home. I leave the block<br \/>\nuntil they take all the eggs away.
